ya know what grind my gears?

i apologize...i haven't been in the blogging mood for a really long time...but the gears are turnin and my mind is racing so i think i'll start venting and/or just jotting my thoughts down...if you wanna read be my guest...

so i saw a clip of the Miss USA pagent...and decided that Perez Hilton is a peice of shit...my facebook status was "Perez Hilton is a peice of shit" and someone asked me 'why?'...this was my response...

""""""he denied Miss California the crown for Miss USA b/c of her views on gay marriage..he tried to corner her with a question by asking her views on gay marriage in the questions portion of the pagent..and she stated that she is glad to live in America, where you can choose, but her views and the way she was brought up was that marriage should be between a man and a ... Read Morewoman...and he flipped out and called her a dumb bitch, and she in turn lost the crown...fuck that...i'm almost positive that the people against the ban on gay marriage are fighting for their views, they're fighting for the right to have their own views acknowledged publicly and legally...what perez hilton did to that girl is the exact opposite of what he thinks he's fighting for...it's as if he's saying 'you're views suck, you should think like me, because it benefits me...'... if he thinks he's fighhting for equal marriage rights for gay couples he shouldn't be putting people down for their rights...that is why perez is a peice of shit...""""""

do i have any right to find that absurd? of course i do, bc this is America...

Let's go Dodgers!!!! woohoo!!!

so I realized my veeeery long response sounded really pompous and just obnoxious.

but I want to say I agree with what you said. No one should be insulted due to their beliefs.

But you also should be able to stand up for those beliefs enough to make someone who completely disagrees understand.

It would have been nice to see Perez taken down a notch.

While I loathe Perez, I think there is a gap between calling someone out on their "beliefs" if those beliefs include cutting off a portion of the population from basic civil and economic rights.

Let us be frank: the arguments against gay marriage are based entirely on religion, and to the best of my knowledge, we don't live in a theocracy. Asking a contestant who is competing to represent the country a pertinent question shouldn't be a surprise.

Of course, I'd be happier if someone took away Perez's Cum Pen and drowned him in his own self-tanner, but it's not because he vented his views on national TV.

I agree with you whole-heartedly

Perez needs to get off his high-horse and realize that yes, there are people against gay marriage and he really needs to learn to deal with it.

He asked for heropinion and she gave it.
Honestly, Im glad shes strong enough to keep true to her beliefs even when it could lose her something shes been working extremely hard for. That takes a lot of courage

You know what confuses me? That she's getting back up for saying that part of the US can't have the same rights as Britney and Paris because she has a right to an opinion, but Perez isn't? That whole "right to an opinion" thing swings both ways. If you have an opinion that makes you look like a bigot, then don't expect to be lauded for it (except on an occasional blog.) If she'd said the same about a specific race or religion, we wouldn't be having this discussion, would we?
