i saw a dead body...for real

first thing is first...Drive By is writing new songs...pull up your pants and get your gettin on...i don't know exactly what that means...but i'm positive that it fits the situation...we JUST recorded 3 of our favorite cover songs and one DB Remix...we changed and older song of ours and layed down the tracks...we'll spill those beans soon...i'm not gonna say anymore about that...if you've been to a show recently you might have caught a glimpse of that jazz...

so here's a little story...i left work (that's right, i have another job, i help out my buddy who owns a bar near my house when i'm home) at 5:30am and i'm driving home...a lil tired but awake and alert enough to see some trash on the side of the road down the street from my house...and when it's 'bulk pick-up' day, you can sometimes find some awesome things in other peoples trash...i've gotten turntables, big screen tvs, guitars...all sorts of fun stuff...SO...my eyes glance to my left and i see a rolled up rug...normally i would just see the rug, contemplate whether or not i NEEDED a used rug (which is always NO), and be on my way...this rug had a different twist to it...

i should just cut the story off there...b/c that would be clever and get you waiting for the next part of story...the 'want' building up inside...just yearning for the next part of my drive home...but i won't...i'll just write other things and then come back to it...

la la la...wasting time...la la la...making you wait...eh....here we go...

well, at the bottom of this rug...were feet...legit feet sticking out of the bottom of the rug...black shoes...i got the chills as i thought to myself "did i really JUST see feet coming from out of that rug...did someone really kill someone and then put them out for trash, like it's something to do?"
I thought it were impossible...no one would do that...it must have just been 2 king size snickers wrappers that had blown to the bottom of the rug and pretended they were feet...so i drove back around the block to get another look...as i creeped back to where the rug lay...i got those chills again...and i crept slower and felt even a lil more like a little girl(no offense to little girls)...haha...i then threw my highbeams on the rug, saw feet and screamed like a little lady(is that better? 'lady'?) at the top of my lungs and sped off...i called my boy, his name is 'Boobie', and i told him he needed to come check this out with me...for some reason i didn't wanna unroll the body alone...lol i wanted him there...not b/c i was afraid...but b/c if he were there i prolly wouldn't allow myself to scream and wake up all the neighbors...especially my neighbor the murderer...ya know?
So i picked up Boobs, and we came back...to make this long story short...he got out and straight punted the shoes...and they flew off into the yard...we then started laughing and woke up the neighbor...you know the murderer neighbor...and he came outside and the 3 of us grabbed our swords and continued to have a sword battle and Boobs jumped on his black horse and slayed the murderer neighbor...and me and boobs road off to save the next town from murdering neighbors...THE END...

That was all a true story...well except for the 'me screamin like a young lass' part...the rest is true...i promise...

hey..it HAS been a while...shut up...i know...i'm kidding...well i'd say i'll make it up to you, but i'm sure you hear that EVERYTIME someone lets you down...i don't know even know if anyone still reads my blog...i don't care, because it's for me...not you...if you're enjoying it then i'm happy...ok back to making it up to you...normally i wouldn't say it b/c i'll probably just let you down, again...but i can make it all up to you without even trying...i started a lil project to keep my mind off of winter depression...and it completely is taking over me...i'm having so much fun...and no...i'm not doing drugs and i did NOT become a serial killer...not that i can remember at least...i started a lil club with myself...well i'm the only member so far...i probably will ALWAYS be the only member but i decided to name my club anyway...

side note- is that weird that i started a club and don't care if anyone else is allowed in or not? I mean i can accept or deny anyone and right off the bat i'm detering applicants..eh..whatever...

ok..so the name...i named my 'club'...ready for it? Drop D TOONing...you like? It's a play on a tuning for guitars...it's when you tune all your strings to standard which would be EADGBe...but then you take the low E string and tune it down to a D...DADGBe...it makes shit bad ass and heavy sounding...and TOON as in carTOON...oh yea...i forgot to tell you what i've been doing with my time...i've been making cartoons...or at least learn to use an animation program on my computer...i've made 3 so far...the first 2 are really short and rough and they look like shizzles...but the first episode of my new hit cartoon entitled "Fitz and Jay: make a mess" hit FACEBOOK tonight...here it is...let me know what you think...and Jay is not Jae my drummer...Jay is my homie J. D-Benzito...and he looks very much like his cartoon...here we go...





so...what do you think? i'm gonna try to keep up with this blog...it's tough...i've been home for a lil bit...Drive By has been rockin out on the local circuit...very fun to play locally in the tri-state area...we are looking foward to touring the country and also the rest of the world...don't think we forgot about ya'll..we're coming...you best believe me...i need some sleep...

"Nachos, Lemonheads, My Dad's Boat..."

OK...so we have a couple shows coming up...Feb 14 (aka Valentine's Day) we're playing at my fave bar ever Finnegan's Grill in Thornwood, NY...it's 21+ but they might be cool if you're underage and respectful...it's worth a shot if you can make it...we'll be playing a longer set than last time and we're gonna try to squeeze in another band...all the info is on our myspace and facebook page...and another show we have locally in the Westchester County/NYC area is Feb 21st in Yonkers at the Haunt on Yonkers AVE...that show is a matinee(2PM)...that's gonna be fun as hell...

Don't worry though, we're working on getting on some tours that swing through your neighborhood...so keep your head up and your support is much appreciated...we like to hear your feedback...the only way this whole band thing works is word of mouth..the more you tell people about us and burn them cds and get people to hear Drive By the faster we'll be in your town...let's get this grassroots promotion army up and running...you keep talking, we'll keep playing and writing our songs...let's do work!

i had mentioned, in a past blog, that my brother and I acquired a gazillion new movies...I'm gonna start writing movie reviews...i did take a film studies class in high school...and i know a Red Herring when i see one...or a McGuffin even...i love watching movies...i even love shitty movies...i HATE shitty movies that are hyped up as good movies though...like old horror movies are meant to be bad movies...but that's why they fill the films with hot ladies losing their clothes while running from zombies, as well as little funny antics, such as,

a zombie who was just chopped up by a lawnmower hits the ground...but his intestines and colon pop up and chase the innocent man...to take it even farther, the colon is letting out farts...sooooooo classic...

i LOVE horror movies(All of them)...i love psycho thrillers(saw, se7en)...as well as comedies(Billy Madison, Super Troopers....), chickflix (the NOTEBOOK) (ha ha), I'm a huge fan of movies that make me think (Donnie Darko)...i love all movies for what they are...so now...I'll start watching and writing what i think about em..

but NEVER listen to ANY review and take it as gold...b/c everyone has different tastes in movies...i have a bunch of friends with all different tastes in music...depending on the movie, I'll pick and choose who I'll bring with me to see a movie...b/c i hate when people aren't into the movie that I'm watching and get bored and just start talking and commenting on it...there are movies you can comment on, mainly comedies...watch a comedy with Jae Hertzberg...he makes funny movies a ton more funny..."Scary Movie 2" is a shitty movie...but Jae made it so worth it and jumped it up to a movie that i STILL quote to this day (Hiawatha!!!!!!!)

i've got a backbone...

Dear Diary...ha

I'm currently in Athens, Georgia...home of Rack 'em Willie...also known as William James Huff...we've been searching for him all day...if you don't know who he is, youtube him...Rack em Willie...so hilarious...he's a homeless man...and these kids follow him around and bro down with him...he tells stories and sleeps in bushes...tons of fun, for everyone...we didn't find him, but we found the Wendy's they filmed at...but we heard some bad news...apparently the last anyone locals have seen of him, he was living in an assisted living home and was sick...they gave him 6 months to live...which is extremely sad...i hope he's doing well...but let us pray that William James Huff is alive and well, and if he has passed, let's hope he went quick and painlessly...

on a happier note....i've been eating like complete shit...haha...it's tough to eat healthy on the road...i'm giving myself til i get home to eat whatever, then it's on...i'm hittin the gym and i'm pretending i'm on the biggest loser...

we also ate at a thai place, and it rocked...Cozy Yum Yum...no joke, that was the name...we walked in and the waitress was extremely persistant "come in!! come in!! you sit down,
make comfortable, you sit down!" so we sat and ordered and the cook came out and said hi...and sat with us, b/c it was empty...she told us of how she just opened the place and it was slow b/c the resturant was underground...she started promoting the band to other customers to try to get them to stay and eat with us...so funny...

we JUST played a fashion show benefit for the American Cancer Society..or association...one of those...it was super duper fun...what more can you ask for...lovely ladies struttin the catwalk, actin way too sexy for their shirts...i'm a huge fan of Lolita Girls Clothing...for sure...also my boy Anthony had his clothes displayed...Rebirth is the shit...he said he'll make me some clothes...so i'm stoked...

i watched the first half of Stepbrothers...absolutely hilarious...now i just hafta finish it...i think i'll do that when i get home...b/c i won't have time tomorrow, we're leaving right from the show and haulin ass home...it's gonna be rough...

i missed LOST...and i'm pissed...

2+2=chicken

last night we shredded faces...Drive By played Finnegan's Grill in Thornwood, NY, my place of work...it was fun as hell...we finally got to play a real hometown show and it went extremely well...i got to see some friends that i haven't seen since i was in high school...all around a great night...after we played, we packed up all the gear and then i was on the clock..i actually started working at the bar that i JUST played at...it was cool though i made some coinage...i don't mind gettin dirty and workin for some extra cash...the bar was an absolute mess...Drive By fans get rowdy...by the end of the night i was pulling people out of 3 feet of broken beer bottles and i found a sweet pair of shoes under all the wreckage...i'm glad everyone had a good time and I thank you all for coming out and support your boys!

the economy is suffer...which means one thing...stores go out of business...well, i guess it means a lot more than just ONE thing, but the stores shutting down is what i would like to talk about...FYE in a town near me is going under...and i LOVE it...i think i just spent, roughly 3 hundo on used DVDs...everything is the store is half off...and these dvds came out to 3 bucks...you do the math...ok i'll help...that's roughly...hmm...a bagillion movies...i have about a bagillion and ahalf movies now...the whole ROCKY saga for 15 beans, all 3 Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles for 10...i better get crackin...i bought dvds that i never wanna see...sappy movies, chick flicks...for the ladies of course...haha...so 2 things t remember...

shitty economy = great deals on movies
global warming = skinny dipping in the winter

all ya gotta do is see the good side and you'll smile forever!
